Today, so many crimes on  campus have been reported. These crimes are varied from theft o rape cases. School is a place to study, make friends, have fun and so on. This is because there are so much varieties of people gathering in one place. However, school could be also a potential crime scens.

So, how can we avoid or prevent from being victims of campus crimes? Is it impossible? No! It is possible.

  • Hold onto your purse with your hand, and keep an eye on your valuables at all times.
  • Lock your purse or backpack in the trunk when you are not carrying it with you instead of putting it inside of your car.
  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash with you at all times.
  • Try not bike or jog alone at night and in poorly-lighted or isolated areas.
  • Do not walk alone on campus at night. Try to have sombody you know well with you (prefer someone of the same sex and avoid the opposite sex).
  • When you are leaving school, have your car keys in your hand.
  • When you park in the lot, turn of the engine and leave your vehicle as soon as possible. In the same way, turn on the engine and take off as quick as possible when you are leaving.
  • Do not park your vehicle out in the back of the lot. Park well-ligted part of the lot.
  • Make sure your door closed and locked at all times.
  • If you see suspicious persons, try to go to populated areas.
  • If you have a cell phone, always ready to dial 911 in case of emergency.

Prevent from becoming a victim of campus crimes and have a great school life.
