11: A Book report onThe XFiles
Science Fiction Essay
I liked The X-files, X Marks the Spot. There was a lot of suspense. It
was easy to understand. The events were spread out well. Overall it
wasn't another long boring science fiction book.
12: Descriptive essays
The Barn
(a barn as seen to a woman who just received news that her son was hurt in war. Do not use: death, war, parent, child etc.)
I walked out onto the cold, soggy grass and starred at the rotting barn. The paint, peeling and cracking, needed desperately to be redone. The door creaked and swayed back and forth aimlessly on it rusted hinges. The fall leaves crunched as I walked towards the old barn. Hay mixed with dust spotted the concrete floor and stood in a heap by the corner. The shutters banged rapidly as the wind picked up. Light, shown only through the small holes formed by a tireless woodpeckers life work, illuminated an array of farm tools dulled by lack of use. Dust clung to spider webs up above, pulling them down on the middle. I began to walk back home as small rain drops clattered on the metal rooftop.
13: Baby Boomers Are Jealous
Generation X'ers have been described as "fanatically independent individuals pathologically ambivalent about the future, and brimming with unsatisfied longings for permanence, for love, and for material possessions." (Lauren, p.64) This less-than-flattering description of our generation has since been expanded by the media to the point that myself and my peers are described as a bunch of apathetic slackers unconcerned with family values, godless cynics resentful of the preceding generations.
14: A Comparison of Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story
There is a lot in common between the two plays Romeo And Juliet and West
Side Story. The main male characters have many things in common. In fact,
Toni and Romeo both miss the beginning fight at the beginning of the plays, they
both fall in love and end up getting killed. The difference between the two is
that Toni takes place in the 1950s'', while Romeo happens in Elizabethan times
(the late 1500s). The two main female characters also have many things in
common. Juliet and Maria both come from families that hate each other's
boyfriend's families. Something that makes Juliet different from Maria is that
Juliet dies and Maria lives. In both of these plays the main male character
kills a relative of their lover. In Romeo And Juliet, Romeo kills Tybalta,
Juliet's cousin. In West Side Story, Toni kills Bernardo, Maria's brother.
15: A Clockwork Orange Review of Book and Firm Version
In A Clockwork Orange, Alex, the narrator and the main character, tells
the story of his teenage years, starting at fifteen. He begins his tale as the
leader of a small gang that spends its evenings pillaging and wreaking havoc on
the town until the gang mutinies and "Your Humble Narrator," as Alex refers to
himself, is caught by the police. From there, Alex travels to State Jail 84F to
serve 14 years, but receives an offer from "the Government" which entails
undergoing experimental treatment in return for early release
16: A Black Cloud again
The heart is an organ of fire, filled with intense love and intense
hatred. Yet it is the hatred which entwines the lives of people causing them to
display acts of violence and cruelty. Hatred is displayed through forms which
include: prejudices towards large groups of people, crimes of hatred being
committed, and indirect hatred which involves hurting others as an act of
rebellion against someone or something.
17: 1 Henry IV Appearance vs Reality
1: Henry IV: AAppearance vs. Reality"
Shakespeare's play Henry IV begins with a king (King Henry) beginning a pilgrimage after killing King Richard II. Henry believes that by gaining the throne of England he has done an honourable deed, yet he admits that the fighting and bloodshed could continue, A. . . ill sheathed knife . . . @ (I.1.17). He, also, admits that his own son, Prince Hal, is not honourable enough to occupy the throne, Asee riot and dishonour stain the brow of my young Harry" (I.1.17).
