Dont spend money if its just for show. Do spend time.

If you spend time and make something or show that you're willing to sacrifice something you don't have a lot of, thats when people really know you care.

A big diamond is really important for women. Spending time and saying sweet things are not enough. Of course in the beginning of relationship, that's the way to go and show how much care about your girl. BUT if the girl responds nicely to you and stay with you without asking expensive stuffs, man needs to be a man and buy A big diamond ring. If you really love her, how expensive a ring cost you, it is not supposed to be bother you, right? Don't be a cheap men!

No offense, though.

Contrary to popular belief, not all women place such huge importance on the size of the rock you place on their finger. You don't have to rob a bank to get a "Yes".

Things like spending time with her and saying sweet things are enough, but only if you mean what you say and do. In the end, creating a romantic atmosphere and using your creativity to give her a sweet surprise will get you further than any diamond can. As long as it comes from the heart, there's no way she won't be touched.

If your girl only cares about you buying her the biggest and most expensive ring around, ask yourself if what she really wants is you or your money. Then, listen to "Golddigger" by Kanye West and take his advice on pre-nups.

Golddigger Wink Nothing wrong with seeking a little financial security Wink Of course, when someone is paying off college loans and taking entry level jobs is not the time for it.

I don't think most women place a lot of value on the size of the rock. If you've been with someone long enough to ask them to marry you, they are probably well aware of your financial situation-- they know what's affordable to you and are understanding. Besides, you can always upgrade the ring in years to come, when you're more established.

I read a guide once .. might have been in Maxim or Playboy.. doubt it was a women's magazine.. Anyway.. the guide mentioned that a good rule of thumb to follow when purchasing a ring is to spend one month's salary.

As a woman, I'd say creativity means a lot. If a woman is so caught up with a ring either she can help you upgrade the ring or you need to re-consider what kind of girls you like. If you are into women who only like you when you buy them expensive gifts, then you aren't choosing a girl who will accept you as you are. And if she doesn't accept you right now, who knows what kind of problems will develop in the relationship later...

A small ring from the RIGHT man means a whole lot more than a "blinged out" ring from someone who you only have lukewarm feelings about.

Besides, if you are just starting out in life and you can't afford a big ring, don't worry about it. You can always save up over the first few years of marriage and do a renewing of vows and give your wife a bigger ring when you both have more money for that kind of thing. Or, have a long engagement.

The truth is that I would appreciate a loving man who took the time to find out about my interests. If he proposes to me in a place that has a lot of meaning for me or in a way that shows that he LISTENS to the things I have told him over the years, that will win big points over a cheesy proposal and a big audacious ring.

How do you think, is it possible to find a good person and then to build with him or her good relationship and happy family? Sometime ago I treated such as like a waste of time for ones who just want to have sex for one night. But! Then I found out that there are many stories with happy ends, so why not? What do you think, guys, girls?
